Learn moreModular sofas — why flexibility is not a compromise
Modular used to be a euphemism for cobbled together. Today, it is the smartest decision you can make when buying a sofa. A good modular sofa looks like a single piece — yet can still be reconfigured if the room or your life changes. Anyone who has moved house once and couldn't take their sofa with them knows why that matters.
L-shape, U-shape or open — what makes sense when
The L-shape is the entry point — versatile, space-friendly, and can be integrated into almost any floor plan. From approx. 18 m² it works without dominating the room. The U-shape needs more space but also gives back more: it creates a self-contained living area that stands on its own. Open configurations without a fixed corner are suitable as a flexible solution for rooms that have to fulfill multiple functions.
Modules that really fit together
The crucial thing about a modular sofa is not what it looks like today — but whether the modules will still be available in five years if you want to expand. At PolsterOase, we choose systems whose manufacturers think long-term. A module that you cannot buy later is not a modular system — it is a sofa in parts.
Measure quality by the connections
The weakest point of a modular sofa is always the connection between the modules. That is where you can see whether a system is really well thought out or just looks good. Sturdy connections that do not slip, no visible gaps between the modules, upholstery that does not sag at the transitions — these are the details that make the difference after a year.
